- A: When you purchase insurance online, you will receive an immediate confirmation via email with insurance details. Short term policies are guaranteed issues. However, the Global Medical Insurance, since it requires underwriting, is not issued immediately. It is essentially your virtual id card. Please keep copy of this email and print it for your records. Generally by the next business day, a plastic insurance card and a hard copy of the policy will be sent by mail or Express delivery if you choose.
